The Big Lunch Sunday 3rd June 2012 [UK wide]
The Big Lunch is a simple idea from the Eden Project. The aim is to get as many of the 61 million people in the UK as possible to get together with their neighbours for a few hours of community, friendship and fun, once a year. In 2011 nearly 2 million people took part. 2012 will proudly support The Queen's Diamond Jubillee celebrations.
FbRN is supporting The Big Lunch. For more information and to receive your free Big Lunch Pack see www.thebiglunch.com or call 0845 850 8181.
FBRN is supporting The Big Lunch as it's the type of initiative that faith groups, involving local communities are very good at. You can get involved either by hosting an event at your place of worship or community gathering place, or supporting others planning an event locally.
And if you want to get even more involved....the Big Lunch team are currently looking for volunteers to help grow the success of the campaign by promoting the initiative in their local area. Big Lunch Champions might help by simply spreading the word, going along to promotional events, distributing materials and providing support to communities organising Big Lunch in their area.
Big Lunch promises it will be a rewarding role and will help by spreading the Eden message as well as connecting with other community-spirited people in your area.
A record number of people are expected to take part in 2012 supporting The Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
