Mill Towns, Religion and Understanding: A training event for Religious and Community Leaders

16 Mar 2011 - 12:00pm - 17 Mar 2011 - 3:45pm

at Jamiatul-Ilm Wal-Huda College and Blackburn Cathedral

Spread throughout the North of England there are many former mill towns that share not only a common industrial history, but also a common community demographic.  They are home to Muslim communities of significant size that contribute to the distinctive character of the towns.

The conference is designed to bring together 20 pairs of Christian and Muslim leaders (religious, community, youth and others) to strengthen partnerships and build new ones, to discuss issues that divide communities and to work together to try and resolve them.

Delegates will be accommodated at the Swallow Hotel, Preston.

See the programme below at documentation.
