Change is in the air at FbRN ...
The world is changing and so must we.
Running a central office secretariat is an expensive way to maintain a national network. Over the coming months FbRN will be moving to a more de-centralised network of local and regional hubs around the country. Each will be the face of FbRN in their area, and will be able to combine their knowledge and capacity where a national approach is required.
This kind of change requires some physical changes as well.
We are fortunate that we have the opportunity to join Collaboration House in central London as a core resident. Collaboration House is owned by the FayreShare Foundation and we will be joined as core residents by Faiths Forum for London and London Boroughs Faiths Network. Other residents already in the building include Council of Christians and Jews, Womens Interfaith Network, Christian Muslim Forum, and the International Debate Education Association. We have already started using Collaboration House as our base for meetings and training events and it offers great potential as a meeting place in central London - for enquiries please contact Steve. Our address is Collaboration House, 77-79 Charlotte Street, London, W1T 4PW.
At the same time we are changing our ICT systems. At present our computer systems are based around a traditional server which is expensive, unreliable and is tied to a central physical office. As we become a more decentralised organisation we will need a virtual system which is reliable, accessible to a variety of contributing users, and, above all, secure. The first stages of this process are starting this week - the beginning of April. We know that there will be some glitches along the way and we ask you to bear with us.
