Quaker Social Action (2011) Annual Report - Our 'impact' on the challenges of poverty

Quaker Social Action

The theme of the latest Quaker Social Action Annual report (2010-2011) is 'impact' and carries thought-provoking material on how the organisation is making a difference to people'living on a low income in the East End of London and beyond.

From Homestore (quality second hand furniture) to Made of Money (family financial literacy), to Knees Up (community street parties and celebratory events), Homelink (routes out of homelessness) and Down to Earth (tackling the cost of funerals and supporting meaningful remembrance without the debt) Quaker Social Action is there on the front-line, supporting people.

The Annual Repoprt reminds also reminds people of the Quaker's remarkable record in social action and thier longstanding belief in equality. Quaker Social Action has its roots in a movement that started challenging poverty through practical interventions back in 1867.  See the website for campaign details and publications.
